PART-TIME INFORMATION RESOURCES AND SERVICES SUPPORT
CAMPUS/LOCATION: University Park
Operate a maps and geospatial information service desk. Assist library patrons with the print map collection, digital map collection, and geospatial data collection using library systems, computer mapping tools, and online resources. Work on projects involving the print map collection, digital map collection, and geospatial data collection including filing maps, georeferencing maps, and working with and/or producing geospatial data and metadata. Minimum job requirements: Able to work alone or in conjunction with faculty and staff members. Commitment to excellent customer service. Ability to work on projects independently and as part of a group. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated high level of reliability and responsibility. Current progress towards or completion of a Bachelor’s degree. Windows/Microsoft Office proficiency. Characteristics highly desired: Coursework and/or experience with maps and geographic information systems (GIS). Interest in geography, cartography, GIS, remote sensing, web-mapping, and related topics. Basic programming skills in R, Python or another programming language.
