I just wanted to let you know that Carnegie Museum and Powdermill Nature Reserve are hiring a new GIS Research scientist, and I thought that you would likely know folks in your group or department that may be interested.
This is a position that mixes independent research at Powdermill with GIS project support for the rest of the museum. The past folks in this position have had a lot of opportunities to dive into different research work-- drones, forestry, ecology (botany, ornithology, herpetology, etc...), natural gas, collaborating with curators in the museum, etc... as well as support projects for museum exhibition and research. Some examples of projects are here: https://maps.carnegiemnh.org/ . I worked in this group as a GIS tech & analyst before grad school and loved it-- I'd be happy to chat with anyone that would be interested, or put them in touch with James Whitacre or Jake Slyder, the previous folks in this position.
