Checklist for Students Admitted to the Remote Sensing Program

1. Graduate School Acceptance

You should have received an official acceptance notification to Penn State from the Graduate School along with your 9-digit ID. If for some reason it did not arrive, please visit the website http://www.gradsch.psu.edu/ where you can check the status of your application.

2. World Campus Enrollment and Registration

You will receive registration and enrollment information from the World Campus. If for some reason it does not arrive within 10 business days of receiving the acceptance email please visit the Online website http://worldcampus.psu.edu/contacts-help for further information and contacts.

You will need to register with Penn State's World Campus. With approval for enrollment in the program you will receive information from the World Campus on how to register for your first course(s). You will need to complete the following steps:

Select a course from the World Campus Course Catalog http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu/course-catalog/. Most courses have prerequisites. It is strongly recommended that students take only one course at a time. Students who have not completed any of the courses in our Certificate Program are eligible to enroll in GEOG 882/GEOG 497G (the first course in the GEOINT program). Students who have already completed GEOG 882/GEOG 497G are eligible to take GEOG 883, GEOG 884, or IST 885. Please note that GEOG 889 must be taken as the final course in the certificate program.

To register for the course you can select, download and print a World Campus course registration form, located at http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu/MarketingFiles/regform_updated.pdf. The form is a PDF file. (You will need a PDF reader like Adobe Reader to view it and print it from a Windows machine.) Once you have printed and completed the registration form, please mail or fax it to the address at the top of the form with your full payment.

To register by phone or for more information, please refer to the World Campus website http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu/contacts-help for contact information and hours of operation.

3. Penn State Access Account

If this will be your first course with Penn State, you will also need to submit an Access Account Acceptance Statement with your registration form to complete your registration. The form is located at http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu/MarketingFiles/Access_Account.pdf

The Penn State Access Account provides you with a unique identification code userID and password combination that will enable you to connect to Penn State computer systems and online courses. Your Penn State Access Account will be good for one year. We rely primarily on your Penn State email account (e.g., "abcl23@psu.edu") to keep in touch with you. After your Penn State Access Account is activated, you can set it to forward messages to your preferred email server at http://www.work.psu.edu. You may miss important messages if you fail to complete this step.
