JOB TITLE: Junior GIS Analyst
SALARY RANGE: $55-75k
PHYSICAL LOCATION: Arlington, VA
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1-4 years
Courage Services is looking for a Junior Geospatial/GIS Analyst for our National Security business area. The Geospatial Analyst will provide research and intelligence analysis support to several intelligence clients.
In this position an ideal candidate will be responsible for geospatial intelligence analysis on issues supporting current and future areas of responsibility within the customer’s mission and will work directly with customers and team members to research, evaluate, analyze, fuse, and interpret reports from multiple sources to produce current and finished geospatial intelligence products. An ideal candidate will prepare and present intelligence assessments and briefings to customers and advise key leadership of intelligence issues and challenges as appropriate, as well as exercise oral and written communication skills to collaborate and interact with analysts within the customer agency, military service components, and DoD and national-level intelligence agencies. In this position, an ideal candidate will also assist in the development and documentation of analytical procedures, geodatabases, and may be required to educate and demonstrate new methodologies and instruct on the use of advanced applications.
EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree or applicable work experience in lieu of a degree is required. Candidates should have completed foundational training in Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) or cartographic sciences. A minimum of three years relevant experience is required.
SKILLS: Candidates must have experience using the following software applications: ESRI ArcGIS including Arc Map and Arc Catalog, Leica IMAGINE, Socet Set (or other 3D extraction tools such as Leica Stereo Analyst), Remote View, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and will interact with team members, customer representatives, external customers, and functional peer groups.
LEVEL OF SECURITY CLEARANCE NEEDED: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship required.
